“Today we follow but tomorrow we
lead by expectations and examples.” Some say leaders are born while others say
leaders are made, however I believe leaders are created through on going
experiences. In our school systems we often focus on the idea of a “perfect
school”; in all honesty there is no perfect school only ones that grow from
experience and knowledge. Over 126,000 books has have been written about how to
provide or create the ideal school environment for a school to have longevity. Although
many different books have been written not one book fits ideal to one specific school.
Leadership and the Leadership team are often life dealing with individual people;
everyone is different so leadership style varies.
In a
school that is only 2 years old is while I currently reside, it is so easy for
our administration to make what some with
are beginners mistakes with the way they lead our team. We are actively
allowed to express new ideas, we are often asked to challenge ourselves to
think out the box for the empowerment of our students.
Roneshia,
ReplyDeleteI agree that leaders are born, that they have to work on their skills to become good leaders. However, I don't think that just anyone can grow into becoming a leader. This is because I believe that some people have better traits or skills that enable them to become successful leaders. I think that anyone trying to become a leader without these skills will be unsuccessful because it takes a certain type of person to become a successful leader.

Hi Roneshia,
ReplyDeleteSo true, it is to easy to say leaders are born. The reality, leaders are made via relative experiences. People will gain better leadership experience through trials and errors.
The saying, people are natural leaders; I believe there are people who poses natural leadership characteristics, reflecting a positive attitude toward oneself but others as well. I fully agree with you, strong leadership profiles are not easy to come by, it is earned with practice.
Enjoy,
Bob

ReplyDeleteThe point you made about everyone being different therefore leading to various leadership styles is a fact. Understandably a leader require special qualities some people are born with and others develop. Regardless to if a leader is born or created it's important that the individual posses the ability to effectively lead others in a way that would positivly impact the community. Educating our students adequately is vital to the success of the entire community.
